Cultural Program
The Organising Committee offers you to participate in some cultural events. /The participation is optional. Tours would be organised if at least 6-8 participants indicated their wishes to take part. Accompanying persons may join any tour for the same fee/. On-site orientation. Main Building of the University. Faculty of Basic Medicine. We will help you in accommodation, instruct concerning living rules and facilities. Since the Main Building is very large, a special guide-tour is offered throughout the building. Some time is reserved to introduce you to the Faculty of Medicine including its laboratories, halls, libraries, computer rooms, etc. The cost of participation is free of charge. Attention! All other tours are subjects to additional payment. The Organising Committee designs the tours using an access to discount system of hotels and tourist companies. Each tour is available if at least 6-8 persons have applied for. Moscow sightseeing. Red Square. St Basil Cathedral. Kremlin inside. Duration - half a day. Moscow subway - metro. Red Square - the center and one of the most beautiful places of Moscow. Lenin Tomb. Kremlin buildings. Fee – about US$ 10 (includes transfer by metro, St Basile museum, entrance to Kremlin area, assistance of English-speaking students; does not include Kremlin inside & Kremlin museums). 2 hour tour "Kremlin inside" (Kremlin museums with a professional guide) is for about additional USD 18. The exact fees depend on a number of participants. Virtual Kremlin tour St Petersburg. Three-night, two-day trip to St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg is one the most beautiful cities in the world. In 2003 it celebrated its 300-year anniversary! 1st night: transfer Moscow- St.Petersburg (night train with sleeping facilities, 8 hours). 1st day: arrival to St.Petersburg, accommodation in a hotel. City sightseeing: Nevsky prospect, St Isaak Cathedral, the Peter and Paul Fortress, Neva embankment. “Channels and Rivers” excursion on a boat. Dinner time. Visit to the Hermitage Museum - one of the world's richest repositories of art, continuously enlarged with Czarist treasures and acquisitions. 2nd day: trip to Peterghof - summer residence of tsars. It is the location of one of the world’s grandest palaces and one of St.Petersburg's most popular attractions (transfer by bus, 50 min, total time - 5 hours). Dinner time. Excursion to the Russian Museum of Arts /or free time/. Evening: leaving a hotel, train to Moscow. Fee – depends on the number of participants (includes costs of Moscow- St.Petersburg-Moscow transfer, room reservation and accommodation in a hotel, museum admission, transfer to Peterghof and back, assistance of English-speaking students or professional guides). ! One day prolongation of the tour is possible upon the request of at least 6 participants. !! about St. Petersburg The tour to Vladimir & Suzdal' Two day trip to VLADIMIR and
SUZDAL. 1st day of the tour: transfer to
Vladimir (train, 3 hours), accommodation in a hotel. Vladimir sightseeing:
Golden Gates (1164), Uspensky Cathedral (1160) with its gold plated
domes and frescoes by Andrei Rublyov, Dmitrievsky Cathedral (1197) wit
a stone carving. Lunch time. Church Pokrov-on-Nerl' sightseeing (bus,
30 min). Supper time.
